Claiming A Task - The Do's and Dont's

CLAIMING A TASK - The Do's and Dont's

To help ensure a successful and fun race for all, we allow members to "claim" a task with some general guidelines.  But remember first and foremost, this is a game - we want to have FUN!!!!

WHAT TASKS CAN BE CLAIMED?
  • Production (producing goods in the factories)
  • Harvesting (planting and harvesting fields)
  • Ships (bringing goods back from the isles on ships)

WHAT TASKS CANNOT BE CLAIMED/ARE FIRST COME FIRST SERVE BASIS?
  • House of Luck
  • Helicopters
  • Mining
  • Zoo
  • Feeding animals
  • Collecting animal products (milk, eggs, wool, honey, bacon, feathers)

HOW FAR IN ADVANCE CAN I CLAIM A TASK?

You *must* be able to take the task off the board within the following time frame:
  • PRODUCTION - The amount of time it takes to produce 6 items. For example, if you claim coats - you have 12 hours as it takes 2 hours to make 1 coat.
  • HARVESTING - The amount of time it takes to fully grow one crop.  For example, if you claim corn you have 5 minutes to take the task off the board - if you claim silk, you have 15 hours.
  • SHIPS - The amount of time it takes to send and bring back one ship to the island your product comes from.  For example, if you claim peaches you have 4 hours to remove the task from the board.  If you claim fish, you have 8 hours.
HOW DO I KNOW WHAT IS ALREADY CLAIMED AND/OR CLAIM A TASK?

Before taking a task off the board, please check the chat tab to be sure the task you are taking is not already claimed.  All claimed tasks will be listed periodically throughout the day/night and easily identifiable by several colorful emojis before and after the list (I.E. πŸŒ»πŸ’›πŸŒ»πŸ’›πŸŒ»πŸ’›πŸŒ»πŸ’›πŸŒ»πŸ’›135 peaches, penguin...... 133 peaches, dani..... 135 silk, kenπŸŒ»πŸ’›πŸŒ»πŸ’›πŸŒ»πŸ’›πŸŒ»πŸ’›πŸŒ»πŸ’›).  If the task you would like is not already claimed, feel free to claim the task.

To claim the task, send a quick message on the chat letting everyone know what task you would like and the point value of the task (there can sometimes be repeat tasks on the board at the same time).  You can also help ensure that your requested task is noticed by everyone by re-posting the list and adding your task.  Feel free to use any colorful emojis that you like to help the list stand out.

If you notice there have been several messages since the last posting of a list, feel free to ask what is claimed and members are more than happy to assist in compiling an up-to-date list!

πŸ’™Leaders and elders try their best to keep the board rid of low point tasks but if you see a low point task you would like in the near future, please speak up so we know not to dump tasks you would like to take!πŸ’™

Please remember that we are all human and that life happens - communication is key.  Sometimes a kiddo comes home sick or we loose track of time - that's life.  If you need extra time or extra help with a task, don't hesitate to ask - we are here to help and have fun!!!
